Publication of KPMG’s Review of the Social Security Tribunal - January 2018

Chairperson

On Friday, January 5, 2018, the Honorable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, published the Review of the Social Security Tribunal of Canada prepared by KPMG. We are committed to continue collaborating with all stakeholders in preparing a comprehensive plan to improve the full recourse process.

The Social Security Tribunal benefits from a solid foundation. Equipped with modern tools, processes and systems that are flexible and efficient, we are ready to continue to improve all aspects of our services. As well, the many members the Tribunal has welcomed this year entail that we are now in a good position to continue reducing throughput times on all four caseloads and to implement deeper changes.

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the Vice-chairpersons, Tribunal members and staff for their support, hard work and dedication in establishing an independent Tribunal that is client-centric, fair and transparent.

Murielle Brazeau, B.A., LL.L.
Chairperson
Social Security Tribunal of Canada
